Lightweight, inert, hollow aluminosilicate microspheres produced as a coal combustion by-product — available in 3 standard size grades.
The name 'cenosphere' comes from two Greek words: 'kenos' (hollow) and 'sphaira' (sphere). A cenosphere is a lightweight, inert, hollow sphere made largely of silica and alumina and filled with air or inert gas, typically produced as a coal combustion by-product at thermal power plants.
Cenospheres are primarily used to reduce the weight of plastics, rubbers, resins, cement and extensively as filler lubricants in oil drilling operations. Due to their unique physical properties — low density, high strength, and thermal resistance — they are valued across a wide spectrum of industrial applications.
All Rawchem cenospheres are sourced from India, tested by external laboratories, and available in off-white/greyish colour with consistent density between 0.3–0.5 t/m³.
Three standard grades available. Custom sizing available upon request.
